Yay! New Toys!
Aug. 20th, 2006 10:44 pmToday I got what I think I can call an AWESOME deal on 60 in. silk taffeta at of all places, a Hancock's Fabric in northern VA! $8.50 a yard! Yay! I'm pretty sure it'll never happen again, but I guess I was just in the right place at the right time.
On another note - I have a feeling I might be called upon to help out with some 17th century-esque costumes in the near future - does anyone have any experience with this era? I've been checking out all my costume/art books, and since it's a theatrical costume my Hunnisett is most helpful at the moment. Any tips/tricks/warnings will be appreciated! I must say, I've never paid much attention to this time period, and have started to develop a new appreciation for the lines of the era - love those long pointed bodices with the poofy sleeves!
