Regency Dance Anyone?
Jun. 5th, 2008 11:03 amJust thought I'd post this for anybody local to Northern VA - I don't have anything remotely Regency to wear, but I'm hoping to take my niece, or wander over by myself.
As posted in the Loudoun Times Mirror: There will be a Regency Era Country Dance and Picnic Saturday, June 7, noon to 5pm at Aldie Mill on U.S. 50. This event celebrates the birthday of the mill's builder and Aldie village founder, Charles Fenton Mercer. Period dress is encouraged. Tours of the mill will be acompanied by milling demonstrations throughout the day. Entertainment will include the Piedmont Regency Dancers, and carriage rides will be provided by the Piedmont Driving Club. There will also be early 19th century children's games, and light refreshments will be served. Admission is free. Contact 703-327-9777 or aldiemill@NVRPA.org
