So, yesterday's post about the Beowulf coloring book got me thinking. If Dover decided to release a children's coloring book based on ancient British literature, what ELSE are they printing?

Very little research yielded the Dover Publications Inc. site, where I discovered a veritable treasure trove of fabulously bizarre books waiting to be colored in. Extra points for the fact that the really crazy ones are inevitably right next to perfectly normal coloring books like: Fun with Animals! and Learn the Alphabet.

Here are some of my favorites so far: )

Is it bad that I want pretty much every other coloring book on the site?

I have to say, the brightest part of my day so far took place about 20 minutes ago when I went to the campus bookstore for a quick snack. This is what I discovered on a rack of other, equally fun, activity books:

Holy Moly! Who doesn't need a Beowulf coloring book? Complete with a picture of our hero holding Grendel's severed arm above his head in triumph! And a viking funeral pyre! All for you to breathe life into with a box of crayons!

Absolutely Brilliant. Hopefully, no one else will have snapped this little gem up before I manage to get my hands on it....
